the heat of the fire draws air straight up from the center over the fire. This draws the air in from the sides in a circle around the fire creating an air current, which means air is being blown toward the fire from all sides. When you sit on one side of the fire, it blocks some of the air moving toward the fire from that side. Now there is more air being blown toward the fire from the side opposite you. This pushes the smoke your direction. When you move to the other side, it just makes the same thing happen over there. The smoke actually literally does follow you around no matter where you sit. Because physics.
in other words what you actually need at the fire is other people sitting around the fire with you to balance it out ;~;

At the end of the Rise of the Titans movie (a movie after multiple episode series), Jim decided to go against every single character development he has ever made, and went back in time resetting the WHOLE SERIES in order to save a friend that he could have saved by going back in time, like, two days. Then, he proceeded to dig himself DEEPER into the hole of negative character development by directly contradicting a character choice that had an entire episode dedicated to it: he basically throws all of the responsibility of being a troll hunter (basically a magical amulet powered protector against a troll that wants to kill all non-trolls ever and also all trolls who don’t obey him directly) onto another character. For some more context, in the original series, there was an entire episode dedicated to him going back in time and making a choice similar to what he does at the end of the movie where he tosses the responsibility of being the Trollhunter onto someone else. Basically everything went wrong and his conclusion was that he can’t just run from his own problems - at the point he’s reached, he is the trollhunter, and it’s not something he can or would ultimately want to stop doing. It’s a part of him. In that episode, he ends up going back to the og timeline at the end of it. However, apparently the writers of the movie did not watch that episode, as he does the exact same thing but the narrative treats it as a good thing??? Honestly, what he does in the movie is kind of worse. Within the movie itself, the characterization of all the characters is kind of a train wreck in motion as well… For some reason Jim purposely doesn’t wear armor for the first battle ??? Despite having always worn armor in battle before that point ??? There is no real reason why he is not wearing armor - his former armor kind of broke in an episode before the movie, but there is absolutely no reason he couldn’t have acquired armor before the movie started. Also, I know I’ve elaborated on this quite a bit, but the decision he makes at the end of the movie not only goes against every part of his character development throughout the show, but also actively reverse and undoes the character development of Every. Other. Character. in the Whole Show. Like a double whammy but it’s a like-fifty-characters whammy. It also makes the show even more extremely convoluted than it already was, as one of the former series took place hundreds of years further back in time, as a sort of ‘this-had-already-happened-and-was-always-going-to-happen’ kind of thing, of which how time travel really works was established. The way that Jim goes back in time works in a totally different manner, as he apparently just wakes up in his former body (in the time travel season, one of the characters that went back in time who is kind of immortal and was alive back then, does not go back into his former body. There are just two of them, the older version and the younger version). It just makes no sense and goes against his character development, and breaks the laws of the fictional universe.
